World Music Day!

Created in 1982, WMD is celebrated every single year all around the world the day of the 21st of June.

Let's scroll back a year before that, in 1981, Maurice Fleuret, the french composer, music journalist, radio producer, art administrator and festival organizer, applied his reflections to the musical practice and became director of music and dance at Minister of culture Jack lang, under that last personal request. That evoluted into his famous anthem "The music everywhere and the concerts nowhere". Till then in 1982, he managed to come up with a massive idea into bringing people out in the street, and perform. That took place in Paris 1982, as The Fête de la Musique.

Since then, the festival have became largely known and crossed seas, to put prints into everysingle continent 460 countries & 110 cities, Germany, Italy, Egypt, Morocco, Syria, South Africa, Australia, Vietnam, Congo, Colombia, United States , Japan , and many many others..

The first day of summer started here in Morocco, Casablanca on musical sounds by the appearance of several artists, performing whether in the street, or in front of a large audience, sharing good vibes and cherishing ones to all the people witnessing music day. For instance, Farid Ghanam gave a thrilled live acoustic performance in Technopark, covering several of "Cheb Khaled"'s music, and ending it with one of his exclusive hits that still have not hit the market.

Reggea music was there as well! People from all ages danced to the goofy music of our dearest "Tal'fine", "Roots" & "N Kulture"!

So, dear Vinylers, even though everyday is a musical day for me, share the love and share the tunes, keep it funky and dance on the blues!!
